The print simulator below calculates in a simple manner the cost per page and the monthly cost of printed material, considering the basic variables.
For the basic calculation:
It's necessary to gather information about the yield and the paid value of the following items:
Obs: Information about the yields of the inks/toners can be found in the printer's catalog or directly on the manufacturer's website. It's important to note that these are approximate values and take into consideration a 5% page coverage rate. on most cases.
To calculate the cost per page, it's quite simple. You should divide the amount spent on toner by its estimated yield.
Ex: (toner price) 250$ / 6.000 Pages (estimated yield)
250 / 6000 = 0,04
Result of this division: 0,04$ This is our approximate cost per page.
To calculate the monthly cost, we use our cost per page value and multiply it by the average number of pages we will print per month.
Ex: 0,04$ (Our estimated cost per page) * 15.000 pages (Average number of pages printed per month)
0,04 * 15.000 = 600
The result of this multiplication: 600 $ is the estimated monthly amount you will spend on your printing for the month.
There you go! Using this formula, you can calculate the printing cost for your company.
